Setting up a maintenance plan to ensure a budget is in place to ensure all areas of the property are covered. The following maintenance plan should include:
- Have a maintenance inspection undertaken.
- Identify known and unknown cost cycles.
- Have a Maintenance Plan Review Meeting.
- Ask questions and understand the plan.
- Don’t set and forget and be proactive.
- Review the plan and budget at least every 2 to 3 years.
The maintenance plan should be in place to accommodate the property, regardless of the size. Property managers should be aware of the building and it’s specific needs, and develop a maintenance plan to ensure funding is in place to ensure all areas at the property have funds distributed correctly.
